We are seeking a physician with leadership experience to lead an established Hospitalist program at Houston Methodist Willowbrook in close collaboration with the Executive Leadership Team. Preferred candidates will have demonstrated success in an advanced hospitalist market, where they have led initiatives that drive clinical excellence, patient satisfaction, and operational efficiency in a highly complex environment. All candidates must be Board Certified in IM/FM with experience in Hospital Medicine. Houston Methodist Willowbrook is located in Northwest Houston. The hospital offers comprehensive medical services for patients at every stage in life, with 358 licensed beds, 20 operating rooms, more than 1,000 affiliated physicians, and over 2,000 employees. Houston Methodist Willowbrook is a leading tertiary medical facility, renowned for its specialized Centers of Excellence that deliver advanced, high-quality care across a range of specialties including orthopedics, neurosciences, digestive, cancer and cardiovascular care.
Key Responsibilities:
- The Medical Director will lead internal performance evaluations, create performance standards, and be responsible for the ongoing development of hospitalists within the program. This role requires a leader who can balance the internal development of the hospitalist group with external collaboration with hospital leadership.
- The candidate must have a proven ability to mentor and develop their team, ensuring that physicians are aligned with the hospital's strategic goals and continuously improving their clinical and operational skills.
- They will proactively identify opportunities to enhance patient care and operational efficiency, using innovative approaches to problem-solving. The Medical Director will leverage data and quality metrics to drive continuous improvement in key performance indicators such as length of stay, readmission rates, and patient satisfaction.
- The role includes a mix of administrative and clinical duties, along with active participation in hospital-based committees and close collaboration with the Physician Organization (PO), APP leadership, and the CQO to ensure the highest quality outcomes.
HMWB currently has a team of over 40 full-time physicians who are employed by the Houston Methodist Physician Organization (PO) as part of a large multi-specialty group. The Medical Director will play a critical role in both leading this internal team and working with other hospital leaders to achieve organizational goals.
