The Department of Cardiovascular Surgery seeks a Clinical Instructor/Junior attending for a one year appointment to start anytime between January 1st – July 1st, 2016 to provide patient care and surgical support in the management of heart failure including Heart & Lung Transplantation. Duties will include participation in one of the world’s largest heart and lung transplant programs as well as a rapidly growing mechanical support program, including ventricular assist devices and ECMO. Opportunities for research and clinical trials are also available and encouraged during the one year period. Individuals who have completed a training program in cardiothoracic surgery or cardiopulmonary transplant fellowship are encouraged to apply. Other requirements include completing the USMLE examinations and eligibility for a Texas state license, although institutional license may be possible.
