Job Summary

Radiology Aide/Student Technologist works under direct supervision of a licensed technologist and/or supervisor. Duties may vary from performing radiologic studies to clerical duties as requested.


  1. Coordinates work with technologist as directed to produce quality exams for diagnosis.
  2. Works cooperatively, as part of the team, to maintain a work environment that promotes mutual respect and professionalism. 
  3. Maintains supply levels and logs requests for supply order.
  4. Accurately completes examinations in RIS as directed. 
  5. Regularly reviews the hospital and departmental policies and procedures and works within guidelines.
  6. Cleans and disinfects equipment and room after each use accordance to Infection Control policies.
  7. Presents a polished, professional image and demeanor in accordance with Methodist Experience Service Standards.
  8. Demonstrates the components of the I CARE values statement.
  9. Works in ancillary/support areas of the departmental initially, and thereafter, as needed.
  10. Demonstrates continuous learning and growth in ultrasound field.
  11. Incorporates feedback into performance improvements.

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent


  • Must be enrolled in an AMA approved school of radiologic technology. 


  • Must be able to function as a professional and perform high quality ultrasound exams commensurate with extent of training.
  • Basic patient care skills, strong verbal, time management and organizational skills.
