SUMMARY Coordinates automation operations within Facility Management Services. Provides technical support to building automation system users. Implements energy conservation and access control projects and programs.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Troubleshoots and repairs pneumatic and electronic control devices and controller boards relating to HVAC, access control and other functions supported by building automation system. 2. Assists in the installation of access control systems and devices in compliance with codes. 3. Reads blueprints and electrical drawings. Field verifies and gathers information on 1-line drawings, mechanical system prints and documentation. Produces and updates complete documentation and drawings. 4. Assists in the research, development and coordination of software and hardware application design and implementation. 5. Coordinates and provides system training for departmental users. 6. Performs preventative maintenanceand calibration on control devices and controller boards. 7. Demonstrates the componets of the ICARE values statement. 8. Demonstrates Service Pride standards. 9. Follows all safety rules while on the job. Reports accidents promptly and corrects minor safety hazards. 10. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS High School Diploma or GED equivalent with Journeyman license or Associates Degree in electronics. Preferred: Extensive controls background supplemented by training courses in HVAC (heating ventilation and air conditioning), DDC (direct digital controls), and pneumatic controls.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS 5 years relevant experience.

SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED 1. Ability to analyze, troubleshoot, and organize complex technical problems. 2. Some interpersonal communication skills are required to interact with others and discuss complex and sophisticated concepts and systems.
