Job Summary


The Senior Graphic Designer - Marketing (Digital and Print) is responsible for project management and creation of high-quality print, digital, and multimedia graphics to support Houston Methodist Corporate Marketing, Communications and Public Relations. The ideal candidate is independent, highly-motivated, self-directed, and possesses a positive, can-do attitude. This person must enjoy working with technically complex material and in a collaborative, high-pressure, fast-paced, and deadline-oriented environment. The position requires the skills necessary to collaborate and work alongside executive leadership and a wide-range of different individuals, work within brand standards, and be open to design input and feedback.

PEOPLE - 30%

  1. Assemble and manage teams that include multiple departments, vendors and contractors, and internal and external stakeholders.
  2. Work directly with executive leadership to create corporate communications and special projects.
  3. Collaborate with staff, corporate marketing/pr and web staff, and other key project personnel in the development of graphics and collateral pieces.
  4. Work with and manage print production including engaging with local print shops and conducting press checks.


  1. Manage multiple projects independently with competing deadlines.
  2. Lead projects from conception to design and execution.

3.Develop creative programs and design concepts that meet the business objectives of the organization and that advance our brand strategy and academic reputation

  1. Coordinate and manage collateral repository, ensuring items are of the highest quality, easily available to staff, and delivered in a timely manner.
  2. Organize and maintain all electronic documents, image and graphic files for ease of use, transmittal and production.


  1. Responsible for graphic quality of all printed, electronic and digital communications including but not limited to, marketing collateral and corporate PowerPoint presentations (both internal and external).


  1. Support consistent application of Houston Methodist branding standards


  1. Develop and manage budgets and contractual agreements for communications projects.


  1. Ensure that information is communicated clearly, accurately, in a visually appealing manner and in alignment with Houston Methodist’s overall brand and messaging guidelines.

Bachelor's degree in multimedia graphic design, visual communications



8+ years of progressively responsible experience in a communications, marketing or creative services environment. Project, team, and vendor management experience. Experience in health care or academic environments.
