Houston Methodist The Woodlands will be the eighth in the Houston Methodist system, offering The Woodlands community a full-service, acute care hospital with many of the same services as our flagship hospital in the Texas Medical Center. The $380 million campus will feature a new 187-bed, 470,000-square-foot facility. 

Houston Methodist The Woodlands Hospital, located at the intersection of TX 242 and I-45, is scheduled to open in July 2017. Construction includes a 150,000-square-foot medical building, which opened March 2016. The Medical Office Building 1 includes a Breast Care Center, Cancer Center & Infusion Center, Orthopedics & Sports Medicine, Wellness Services, Outpatient Laboratory and Therapy, in addition to multi-specialty physician practices.

Job Summary

The Manager of Respiratory Care is responsible for the 24-hour management of the Respiratory Care Department and services. This includes short and long term planning, program and staff development, resource and budget management, quality monitoring and improvement, and evaluation of policies and procedures to ensure quality patient care and patient satisfaction.  Maintains clinical and management knowledge to advance the profession and utilizes team leadership within the department to accomplish these goals. Works in cooperation and under the direction of the Medical Director of Respiratory Care/ ICU to ensure regulations and accreditation standards are maintained.  The Manager practices patient and family centered care in concert with Methodist West Houston Hospital’s values of Integrity, Compassion, Accountability, Respect and Excellence standards.

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Substantial relevant experience may be considered in lieu of degree as appropriate.


  • Three years of progressively responsible experience, at least one of which must have involved supervisor/managerial responsibility.


  • ACLS
  • AHA-BLS Healthcare Provider
  • NRP
  • Licensed by TDH to practice Respiratory Care and registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care.


  • Must be able to write and speak effectively in English. 
  • Must demonstrate interpersonal skills with all levels of the healthcare team.


  • Patient care unit. 
  • Universal precautions required. 
  • Extended periods of walking and standing required. 
  • Minimal lifting, pushing and pulling required.
