SUMMARY Manages the daily operations of a medical clinic, including the development of the clinic budget and policies and procedures. Responsible for staff training, developing and implementing policy and procedures. Develop and coordinate new programs to enhance and generate revenue. This position will work closely with the Medical Director to ensure compliance with Medicare, TDH, JCAHO, and other regulatory agencies. This position will also act as the OSHA Compliance Coordinator for the department. Other responsibilities include: operational budget, capital acquisition, assisting in determining FTE`s recruitments for the clinic, staff training, purchasing, inventory control, equipment maintenance and service contract management. Performs patient care duties including assisting physician`s as needed in the clinic and performing clinic procedures.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1.Manages daily operations of physicians' clinic. Meets with numerous patients, families, vendors, and departmental managers from other areas of TMH/PO as required. Interact promptly and directly with patients and their family members, and physicians as problems arise. 2. Supervises the business operations related to patient services. 3. Manages billing of patients and participates in the development of clinic objectives and long-range strategic plans. 4. Ensures that patient flow and day-to-day operations of the clinic operate efficiently and effectively. Ensures patient satisfaction and handles operational problems as they arise. 5. Trains, coaches and evaluates the performance of the clinic employees. Develops policies and procedures and updates clinic operations. 6. Works with business manager and/or Administrator in development of clinic budget. 7. Identifies opportunities for the development and implementation of new products or new solutions to meet or exceed customer needs. 8. Develops, implements and coordinates new programs / procedures to generate revenue and support staff development. Assist physicians with building a clinical practice. 9. Develop, implement and maintain Quality Enhancement Programs. Ensures that all quality enhancement programs including audits and accreditation standards are maintained in accordance with Medicare, JCAHO, TDH, JCAHO, and other regulatory agencies. 10. Acts as the OSHA Compliance Coordinator that includes developing and implementing the departmental program. 11. Work closely with Clinic Medical Director to develop and implement marketing strategies to enhance revenue. 12. Develop a training and orientation program for medical assistant and nurse. 13. Monitor all licenses and certifications of nursing and other staff ( i.e.: ultrasound technician, medical assistants, LVN, RN). 14. Triages patients based on their urologic disorders and provides nursing support to department physicians. 15. Demonstrates the componets of the ICARE values statement. 16. Follows all safety rules while on the job. Reports accidents promptly and corrects minor safety hazards. 17. Completes all hospital required and job-related in-services and applies the information s needed. 18. Performs other duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS 10 years of clinical experience required of which 5 should be in a supervisory position.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES AND REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED
SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED 1. Proficiency in MS Office. 2. Ability to use clinical information systems (IDX, etc.).
