Job Summary


Assess and plan treatment programs for patients relevant to physical dysfunction and implement by direct or delegated care as ordered by physician.  Serve as a professional care provider,  educator,  consultant and coordinator.

Evaluate patient’s level of function; develop and implement plan of treatment.(EF)
Monitor patient progress; maintains timely and accurate patient records.(EF)
Complete all patient documentation and enter charges for services provided.(EF)
Cooperate / collaborate with members of the medical treatment staff regarding client’s current or recommended treatment, progress  and discharge planning.(EF)
Ensures proper scheduling of patients to maximize utilization of time.(EF)
Participates in individual and staff development and expansion of services(EF)
Assists in development  and marketing of speech pathology services to appropriate population. (EF)
Demonstrates ICARE Values.(EF)
Follows all safety rules on the job.(EF)
Performs other job duties as assigned.


Master’s degree in Speech Pathology

Certified by the American Speech-Language Pathology and Audio logy Association


Clinical experience of 2 years.  May be in Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY).  Desirable experiences include:  medical speech-language pathology with an adult population, SNF or rehab focused clinical experiences.


Current Texas license as a Speech-Language Pathologist

Current American Heart Association BLS certification



Demonstrates good communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work as a team member and to be able to work independently.

Ability  to assess and treat adults and/or pediatric patients with  communication and swallowing disorders.

Demonstrates good computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel Programs.
