Job Summary


This position will perform a variety of environmental service duties to maintain the Hospital in a neat, orderly and sanitary condition.  Performs daily cleaning to include vacuuming, mopping, sweeping floors, removal of trash, dusting, cleaning and sanitizing of public areas, offices, treatment rooms, bathrooms, corridors, and patient rooms.  Employee will pursue a high quality standard by using appropriate cleaning supplies, equipment, and techniques.
  1. Maintain all assigned patient rooms, ancillary areas and department areas in a clean, neat and sanitary manner.  EF
  2. Will remove all trash and linen and will perform daily cleaning duties: high and low dust, sanitizing, bed making, restocking of supplies, sweep, and wet mop and/or vacuuming of floors following established cleaning processes.  EF
  3. Follows appropriate protocol following patient discharges. Respond promptly to all pages from bed tracking system and clean all checkouts within established time standards, and notify management of any safety and repair needs for all equipment, furnishings and fixtures.  EF
  4. Will be efficient and safe in the use of housekeeping equipment and solutions as observed by Management. EF
  5. Will provide routine cleaning maintenance of all equipment used, and report all faulty equipment promptly. EF
  6. Demonstrates commitment to professional growth and competence by adherence to hospital and departmental annual training commitments.  EF
  7. Follows all safety rules while on the job. Reports accidents promptly and corrects minor safety hazards. Communicates with peers and management regarding any hazards identified in the workplace.
  8. Demonstrates Service PRIDE Standards.
  9. Will use appropriate ICARE customer service behaviors at all times.
  10. Performs all reasonable requests or other duties as requested by customers and Management.
High School Diploma or GED;
Will consider 2 years of experience in lieu of education.
One year of environmental services experience preferred
Responsible for cleaning safety precautions
Must be able to pass all mandatory in-services and all job specific competency testing
Must be able to communicate effectively in English
Will complete all work in a timely fashion, and according to high quality standards
