Job Summary

JOB SUMMARY

 

Provides analytical and specialized decision support for the Vice President. Responsible for the management of decision support projects as assigned, including leading, coordinating and completing projects related to the strategic, financial, and market development activities of the Hospital.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1.Assists in the development and management of the cost accounting system for the VP.   Works with Management and staff in the use of data.

2.Develops material, presentations, and reports by working directly with members of all organizational departments in integrating and coordinating strategies and work plans of departments throughout the hospital.

3.Investigates and implements systems, processes, and procedures to ensure integrity of decision support data bases.

4.Provides financial decision support. Assists in the development and management of operational and capital budgets for the Vice President.

5.Responsible for the completion and management of projects as assigned by the VP.

6.Partners with VP in the development of the strategic planning & business planning processes and activities related to the hospital's service lines. Facilitates and directs the development of business plan creation and implementation in the Hospital.

7.Analyzes and assesses present and future needs, trends, challenges, and opportunities related to hospital operations.

8.Identifies and recommends opportunities for improvement and business development in accordance with hospital leadership. Assists in the development of long-term tactics and strategies for the Hospital.

9.Establishes practices that meet or exceed patient expectations and fosters a "customer focused" environment.

10.Serves on related task forces and committees as directed.

11.Utilizes a variety of software applications to create/compose both non-routine and sensitive senior management level communications and reports.

12.Demonstrates the components of the I CARE values statement (Integrity, Compassion, Accountability, Respect, and Excellence).

13. Demonstrates the Service Pride standards (smiles and makes eye contact; greets each patient and visitor; seeks out patient and visitor contact; displays appropriate body language at all times; takes 5 minutes each day to go to above and beyond for one patient or visitor; honors diversity; thanks every customer).

14. Follows all safety rules while on the job.  Reports all accidents promptly and corrects minor safety hazards.  Communicates with peers and management regarding any hazards identified in the work place.

15. Performs other duties as assigned.

 

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor's degree required, MHA or MBA is preferred

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

10 – 15 Years experience required with a Bachelor Degree; 3-5 Years experience with a Masters Degree; 3-5 years experience in healthcare finance/operations required
