Job Summary

 

The PRN Cardiology Diagnostic Tech II performs a variety of complex diagnostic cardiology procedures to include,  electrocardiograms, holter moniter placement / scanning, routine treadmills and cardiac stress studies to consistently produce high quality exams, with regard to and consideration for the age and general medical condition of the patient  that require independent judgement, ingenuity, and initiative, in order to obtain information for use by physicians in diagnosing or treating patient.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • High school graduate or GED equivalent.
  • Successful completion of an EKG course

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • 6 Months experience as an Cardiology Technician Level I.
  • CV certification preferred. 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES AND REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED

  • Certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support by the American Heart Association.

SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

  • Basic knowledge of anatomy and physiology.
  • Knowledge of advanced ECG arrhythmia and conduction defects.
  • Knowledge of all types of stress tests.
  • Demonstrates ability to communicate effectively with physicians and allied personnel.
  • Maintains current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification through American Heart Association
