Houston Methodist Specialty Physician Group is seeking a Board-Certified OB/GYN physician to join the core faculty of our Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency program. The program, primarily located and based at the Willowbrook campus, has five residents per year for a total of 20. Texas A&M Medical Students also rotate and participate in our resident training and education activities. Qualifications
- Successful candidates will have excellent interpersonal communication, problem-solving skills, and a collaborative mindset.
- Prior administrative and academic preceptorship experience in graduate medical education strongly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Active leadership, engagement, and oversight of the daily clinical needs for Obstetrics and Gynecology patients.
- The position will be a mix of direct patient care, teaching/supervision of the OBGYN residents, & administrative duties.
- Serve as attending/faculty physicians in the residency continuity clinic supervising residents.
- Administer and maintain an educational environment conducive to educating residents in each of the ACGME competency areas.
- Regularly participate in organized clinical discussions, rounds, including journal clubs and conferences.
- Participate in scholarly activity and quality improvement projects with the residents.
Night and weekend calls are shared with the other HMPO OB/GYN Residency Faculty physicians and a local private practice OBGYN. A minimum of one 14-hour weekday and one 24-hour weekend call period is required each month.
