Job Summary

This position ensures twenty-four hour accountability and responsibility for the quality and delivery of patient care provided in the Cardiovascular Catheterization Department. The Director establishes the policies, standards, and objectives for the provision of services and coordinates with other departments in order to provide maximum level of services to patients and hospital staff. 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collaborates with staff and managers in development and achievement of goals.  
  • Determines priorities based on defined goals. 
  • Develops revenue, expense and capital budgets. 
  • Implements patient care delivery systems which reflect the needs of the patient population on the unit. 
  • Investigates patient, family, physician, and staff complaints, responding with appropriate corrective action in a timely manner.  
  • Demonstrates current expertise in area of practice and is able to provide  direct care in a multi-problem situation. 
  • Creates a climate free of fear by communicating and questioning, encouraging and supporting others to do the same. 
  • Identifies key priorities for improvement, and involves staff in the performance improvement process. 
  • Demonstrates the components of the ICARE values statement (Integrity, Compassion, Accountability, Respect, Excellence). 
  • Demonstrates ServicePride standard (smiles and makes eye contact; greets each  patient and visitor; seeks out patient and visitor contact; displays appropriate body  language at all times; takes 5 minutes each day to go above and beyond for one  patient or visitor; honors diversity; thanks every customer). 
  • Follows all safety rules while on the job. Reports all accidents promptly and corrects minor safety hazards. Communicates with peers and management regarding any hazards identified in the workplace. 
  • Performs other duties as assigned.  

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing, BSN (Masters preferred), or Bachelor`s degree in the Science or Health / Business Administration (Master`s preferred) 

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Has a minimum of 8 to 10 years of progressive management experience. 
  • 2 years of management experience in a multi-function department. 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES AND REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED:

  • BLS certification through American Heart Association
