SUMMARY: Participates in the accredited Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) program for a full year, which includes classroom learning, individual supervision, and partnership with a Sr. Staff or Staff Chaplain to provide spiritual care to patients, families and staff on assigned clinical units. Additionally, this position also require 12 hour rotating call for the organization.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
PEOPLE - 20%
1.Provides spiritual support to patients, visitors, and staff members of hospital.  (EF)
2.Cooperates with health care professionals by participating in patient rounds, discharge planning, support groups, and other multi-disciplinary teams.
3.Partners with Sr. Staff or Staff Chaplain and seeks guidance on escalated issues that may arisewith patients, visitors, and staff members.

FINANCE - 5 %
1.Assists in the identification of the needs of patients and of the development of patient care plans. 
2.Completes all 4 units in the accredited Clinical Pastoral Educaiton (CPE) curriculum. (EF)

QUALITY/SAFETY - 15%
1.Provides and documents spiritual support to patients and families during hospitalization, particularly for pre-operative, critically ill, or dying patients. (EF)
2.Provides crisis intervention for patients, visitors, and staff members.
3.Ensures appropriate services from Spirtical Care are being fulfilled.
SERVICE - 50%
1.Responds to all referrals and requests patients, families , and staff members relative to the assigned clinical areas. (EF)
2.Ensures that spiritual care needs are met with patient,visitors, and staff members prior to departing the assigned clinical area.
3.Responsible for ensuring trhougput for requests that must be escalated to a Sr. Staff or Sttaff Chaplain initiated by patients, visitors, and staff members
4.Rotates with other CPE residents and interns in taking on-call responsibility on weeknights, weekends and holidays. (EF)

GROWTH/INNOVATION - 10%
1.Offers recommendations and ideas for the continued success and development of the Spriritual Care Department.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
¿Two years of attending an accredited college or equivalent of 48 semester hours.
¿M.Div. from an accredited seminary preferred

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
¿2 years experience in active involvement in a faith/belief group setting; proof must be susbstantiated by letter of faith/belief group.
¿1 previous unit of CPE from an accredited center.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES AND REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED
¿None

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
¿Ability to communicate effectively with multiple staff levels
¿Strong verbal, and written communication skills
¿Excellent time management skills
¿Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
