Classical (“Benign”) Hematologist

The Hematology Division, Dept. of Medicine, Houston Methodist Hospital, seeks a Classical Hematologist.  Houston Methodist Hospital is a large tertiary referral hospital, continuously rated among the top 20 in the country. Our Hematology Division has been highly respected for decades, attracting referrals of the full breath of hematology (bleeding, clotting, anemias, cytopenias), including relatively large numbers of patients with rare and complicated disorders as PNH, Evans syndrome, hereditary and acquired thrombotic microangiopathies, acquired hemophilia, etc.

We seek a physician with a focus on classical hematology.  We maintain strong collaborations with the hematologic oncologists in the Cancer Center, and with colleagues in our center for Cell and Gene Therapy (BMT; CarT programs).  Responsibilities include inpatient and outpatient clinical care, and commitment to the education of medical students, residents, and hematology/ oncology subspecialty fellows (from our own program and rotating from MD Anderson).  Research activities (clinical, translational, basic) are strongly encouraged.
