Job Summary

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES     1. Collaborates with department and management staff. Coordinates consis10t education for staff, from orientation to advanced learning, for a service line or individual units. (40%)  2. Assesses educational and professional needs within the departments on an ongoing basis. Designs, implements, and evaluates programs to meet the identified needs. Provides consis10cy and comptentency of staff with respect to new technology or practice improvements, and supports the delivery of safe, quality clinical services. (40%)  3. Identifies unique and creative ways to assure accessibility and availability of educational programs to staff in all areas, identifying ways to provide learning experiences, assess performance and document comptentency that are cost effective and feasible for implementation in the clinical setting and which meet regulatory requirements. (10%) 4. Supports departmental activities and performs other job related duties, as assigned. (7%) 5. Demonstrates the componets of the ICARE values statement. (3%)        EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS     Graduate of an accredited school of Occupational Therapy or Physical Therapy. Master`s degree in a health or education field preferred.      

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS     Experience in education or program development, preferred.        CERTIFICATES, LICENSES AND REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED     Current licensure with Texas Executive Council of Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy Examiners.       

SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED     1. Able to build evidence-based practice into the clinical setting. 2. Demonstrates ability to independently manage programs, staff, and large-scale projects, including a demonstrated ability to plan, organize, and follow through on assignments and/or projects. 3. Demonstrates leadership abilities, including collaborative, consultative and coaching skills. 4. Demonstrates interpersonal skills and highly effective verbal and written communication skills. 5. Must have a working knowledge of PowerPoint, Microsoft Outlook, MS Word and Excel.
