Job Summary


This position exists to ensure that Houston Methodist Global Health Care Services, through its Global & USA Patient Services division, extends its vision and mission nationally & internationally.  Additionally, this position exists to ensure the provision of the highest standards of quality services to patients and customers from all over the world.



  1. Directs the Global and USA Patient Services division of HMG and promotes the corporation’s mission, vision and strategic plan.
  2. Mentors professional staff and promotes development and success.
  3. Develops and maintains relationships within HMG business divisions and HMH clinical and non-clinical departments to facilitate Global and USA Patient Services operation and implementation of its strategy.
  4. Initiates and fosters related external local, national and international relationships with medical, diplomatic, media, and corporate communities.


  1. Develops and monitors reports to monitor productivity
  2. Develops strategic processes and activities in alignment with HMG and overall HMH
  3. Develops and manages Patient Services division operational and capital budgets with the goal of maximizing revenues


  1. Identifies and recommends opportunities for improvement
  2. Develops and monitors operational dashboards to hold staff and managers accountable
  3. Develops and monitors patterns of patient referrals and shares with business development team
  4. Follows all safety rules while on the job.  Reports accidents promptly and correct minor safety hazards


  1. Establishes practices that consistently meet and exceed customer expectations and fosters a customer focused environment
  2. Establishes and maintains a consistent excellence in services across our teams within Global and USA
  3. Identifies, establishes and enhances partnerships with HMH physicians to serve patients at the highest standard
  4. Join related hospital committees to provide relevant voice for Global and USA Patients
  5. Join and participate in external committees and organizations to ensure learn others’ best practices and keep our competitive advantage.


  1. Foster, enhance and create new relationships with physicians and their office managers. 
  2. Develop and implement employee training and retention plan to keep our services very competitive and unique
  3. Partners with HMG business development and consulting teams to ensure alignment in business strategy and implementation
  4. Partner with the system business development leaders in the community hospitals to establish facilitated access model for HMH community hospitals for special handling patient types
  5. Participates in internal and external committees and professional organizations to promote HMG and HMH brand
  6. Leverages existing and future technologies to keep patient services innovative operationally
  7. Develops and fosters relationships with HMG competitors through professional organizations to ensure Global Patient Services division maintains best practices
  8. Play a key role assisting our business development teams with specific focus on selected regions to dramatically increase patient volume
  9. Travels with BD team to key regions to build relationships and participate in key events to enhance HM brand awareness and Patient Services role  (30% travel)

MHA, MBA + 5-7 years of experience OR

MBA, MHA + TMH Fellow + 3 years experience.


1.   5+ years experience in healthcare, finance or operations

2.   3+ years experience in management, preferably in a health care setting.

3.   3+ years experience in managing a patient care setting




1.         Strong analytical and interpersonal skills.

2.         Strong skills in Microsoft tools.

3.         Excellent skills in excel and power point

4.         Strong skills in developing processes, metrics and financial business sense

4.         Must demonstrate excellent communication skills.

5.         Must be able to work under pressure and balance many competing priorities.
