Performs and coordinates a variety of receipt, storage and inventory control processes within the Distribution Center. Under the direction of the Receiving Supervisor, the Coordinator trains, monitors and directs activities of receiving and stocking personnel and ensures that all inbound freight is accepted, verified by means of physical/electronic receipt and stocked in the most efficient means necessary. This position requires a Class B Commercial Drivers License.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Duties and Responsibilities are cross-referenced to Houston Methodist’s Pillars of Excellence and will be transferred to the Performance Evaluation.
Ensure drivers are performing all of their assigned tasks and responsibilities.
Assumes responsibility for taking requests from customers and/or management and dispatching runs according to schedule and with available resources.
Maintains assigned routes and schedules for drivers and adjusts accordingly.
Provides updates and availability to Order Fulfillment Supervisor for maintaining the days delivery schedule to all sites and communicates on runs which may be impacted or delayed.
Works in conjunction with Transportation/Fleet Supervisor to maintain fleet to DOT and industry standards. Reports known equipment issues and makes fleet assets available for repair as needed.
Ensures all communications equipment (Cell Phones/Tracking Devices) are maintained in proper working condition and information is made available to management and customers as needed.
Reviews all Fleet Card transactions and receipts for proper reconciliation of monthly invoices.
Ability to maximize utilization of equipment and personnel while ensuring equipment and people are adherent to DOT rules and regulations
Maintains up to date knowledge of State and Federal laws regarding DOT and OSHA regulations, etc.
Maintains current understanding of multi-site logistics and best practice for transportation concepts such as route management software and utilization of statistical data.

High School diploma or GED equivalent.
Minimum of five years transportation/logistics experience required. At least two years of experience acting in a team lead role with the capcity to act in the absence of management. Experience working in a high-volume courier or distribution operation. May substitute higher education for work experience.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES AND REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED
Must possess a valid State of Texas Class “B” Commerical Driver’s License with Air Brake rating and have a valid DOT Medical Card. No moving violations within the last two (rolling) years. Must be certified in the operation of powered material handling equipment (Pallet Jack/Forklift) or able to acquire within 60 days of employment to comply with OSHA workplace standards.
