JOB SUMMARY
At Houston Methodist, the Multimodality Technologist position is an experienced Technologist responsible for performing a variety of routine and specialized diagnostic radiology procedures with two or more specialty modalities of moderate to high complexity. This position may perform other job duties related to admissions and registration, medical assisting and transportation, as needed. The Multimodality Technologist position is a member of the direct patient care team and is fully competent in all aspects of various radiology procedures. This position works independently by exercising sound judgment and executing above average clinical skills on challenging diagnostic procedures and patient care situations. The Multimodality Technologist position provides direct assistance to physicians with all diagnostic procedures, delivering exceptional patient care, teamwork, and adheres to radiation standards and guidelines established by governing agencies to ensure optimal patient safety and customer service.

Qualifications:
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
o Graduate of education program approved by the credentialing body for the required credential(s) indicated below in the Certifications, Licenses and Registrations section.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
o Two years’ combined experience in more than one specialty modality
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES AND REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED
o Medical Radiologic Technologist (MRT-GC) thru the Texas Medical Board
o American Registry of Radiologic Technologist in Radiography (ARRT (R))
o One of the following specialty modalities: American Registry of Radiologic Technologist in Computed Tomography (ARRT (CT)), American Registry of Radiology Technologist in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (ARRT (MRI)), American Registry of Radiologic Technologist in Mammography (ARRT (M)), American Registry of Radiologic Technologist in Interventional Radiography (ARRT (VI)) or American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) in Ultrasound
o American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS)
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
o Demonstrates the skills and competencies necessary to safely perform the assigned job, determined through on-going skills, competency assessments, and performance evaluations
o Sufficient proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing the English language necessary to perform the essential functions of this job, especially with regard to activities impacting patient or employee safety or security
o Ability to effectively communicate with patients, physicians, family members and co-workers in a manner consistent with a customer service focus and application of positive language principles
o Possesses basic computer knowledge; operates multiple computer systems to include, Hospital/Radiology Information Systems and Office software to maintain patient and exam documents
o Exhibits strong interpersonal and team player skills with all levels of the healthcare team and assures delivery of excellent customer service to all patients, visitors, physicians and co-workers
o Adapts to multiple ongoing priorities with minimal supervision including, organizing work flow and actively participating in problem-solving
