Job Summary

JOB SUMMARY

The responsibilities of this position include implementation of the Employee Health program.  This includes working collaboratively with ancillary departments in performing new employee assessments and the coordination of a comprehensive and effective infection control program.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES     

1. Performs pre-employment assessments on all new employees.

2. Monitors and conducts annual Tuberculosis and fit testing for all employees, volunteers, and MPO at MSLH, as applicable.

3. Monitors and provides care for all occupational injuries and coordinates follow-up medical care.

4. Provides assistance for administration of the Hepatitis B vaccination program.

5. Collaborates with others in the investigation, reporting and comple10ess of contacts exposed to infectious or communicable diseases.

6. Demonstrates Methodist Health Care systems ICARE values.

7. Demonstrates safe work practices for self and others as appropriate.

8. Completes assigned special projects or other duties as requested.      

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS      

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is the preferred qualification. Alternative experience will be considered in lieu of the minimal educational requirement.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS     

1 - 3  years of experience in Employee Health.      

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES AND REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED     Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure for the State of Texas.      

SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED      1. Competent in Employee Health Practices. 2. Maintains current knowledge regarding all laws, regulatory and accreditation standards. 3. Proficient with computer programs to complete job duties independently. 4. Able to communicate in English with verbal and written skill. 5. Participates in educational programs to enhance expertise. 6. Able to complete all expectations of position with minimal supervision.
