In 2024, Houston Methodist is proud to award nearly $4.5 million in grants to 44 Houston-area nonprofits.
The grant program addresses root causes of health inequities experienced by social, racial and ethnic minorities across Greater Houston–including people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, veterans, seniors, the LGBTQ+ community, homelessness, foster youth and more.
Since its inception four years ago, the grant program has provided 89 nonprofits with $15.8 million in funds. This year, it will support over 52,000 people through 22 healthy neighborhood programs, 13 educational empowerment programs and 12 economic programs. Offering two types of grants, we support community educational efforts and building healthy neighborhoods and fund employment and economic empowerment initiatives affecting minority groups.
“We are proud to champion impactful programs in our community to address some of the most pressing health and social disparity challenges that exist in the Houston area,” said Jill Campbell, director of community benefits at Houston Methodist. “Working collaboratively with local nonprofits like these incredible 44 organizations is a testament to our dedication to improving the health and well-being of the Greater Houston community and beyond.”
