A Message from Our
President & CEO:
Marc Boom, MD
Houston Methodist President & CEO
"Houston is one of the most diverse cities in the country, and Houston Methodist is a reflection of our city. Our employees represent all walks of life, fostering a rich exchange of ideas and knowledge that leads to the new and bold innovations and treatments that are at the heart of leading medicine. When everyone is empowered and has a voice, our patients benefit, our employees benefit and our community benefits. These goals can’t be met by one or two people alone. It’s going to take all of us moving in the same direction to get us there."
A Message from Our
Vice President:
Arianne D. Dowdell
Vice President, Chief Culture and Engagement Officer, Houston Methodist Hospital
"At Houston Methodist, our I CARE values are at the core of how we treat each other and our patients. We are committed to providing, promoting and ensuring an environment that celebrates everyone. We are dedicated to creating a culture that encourages our employees to grow their careers and where everyone has an opportunity to reach their full potential and bring their entire self to work. When we continuously strive to build and maintain a workforce in which everyone is encouraged to participate and engage, we will be better employees and team members, our patients will be better and so will the communities we serve and care so deeply about."
Employee Resource Groups (ERGs)
Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) are informal, volunteer, employee-created and led groups that offer supportive environments for all employees that help to build a more connected community.
They offer professional development, community engagement and networking opportunities, improve awareness of cultural heritage traditions and customs, and support Houston Methodist in achieving its business objectives. ERGs are comprised of individuals who join together based on common interests, backgrounds or demographics. Employees may join a group they identify with or would like to learn more about and support.
Culture & Engagement Learning
The OCE Learning Team is dedicated to fostering an equitable environment across our organization. It is a resource available to help broaden employee understanding of different cultures, backgrounds and experiences and improve patient care, team togetherness and effectiveness and enhance personal and professional development. Courses may be taken in-person or virtually.
