Houston Methodist Specialty Physician Group is currently seeking a full-time ACHD Interventional Cardiologist to join our well established, thriving, and dynamic team. Houston Methodist campus is rapidly expanding to meet the needs of a growing community. The successful candidate must be committed to providing unparalleled patient care with excellent clinical skills in the area of Interventional Cardiology in Adult Congenital Heart Disease. Candidates must be Board Certified in Adult Congenital Heart Disease, Interventional Cardiology, Cardiovascular Disease, and Internal Medicine with an active (or in the process) Texas Medical License. This is a full-time career opportunity with a competitive base salary plus incentivized bonus structure.
The ACHD Interventional Cardiologist will prove competencies in:
- Medical and Surgical management of CHD,
- Postoperative management of adults with CHD,
- Technical and diagnostic expertise in invasive and noninvasive cardiac procedures,
- Recognition and management of acquired cardiovascular disease and cardiopulmonary disease;
- Appropriate initial management of non-cardiac disease in adults,
- Physiologic changes of pregnancy and awareness of the important effects on and presentation of CHD,
- Psychosocial aspects of adolescence and the transition to, and through, adulthood;
- Identify high-risk behaviors in adults with CHD,
- Lifestyle counseling and advocacy for adults with CHD,
- Principles of health promotion in adults;
- Integration with local and regional models of healthcare access and provision for individuals with chronic medical illness,
- Recognition of data-driven principles of care planning, and integration with established national and international guidelines of ACHD care,
- Anatomy, morphology (inclusive of embryology), and pathophysiology of CHD, and
- Direct and meaningful experience with clinical research methodology, including clinical epidemiology,
- Experience and excellence in transcatheter interventions in congenital heart disease including coarctation, pulmonary angioplasty and valvuloplasty, transcatheter pulmonary valve, atrial and ventricular septal defect, embolization of collateral vessels and interventions in patients with single ventricle physiology.
