At Houston Methodist, the IT Sr. Process Specialist is responsible for applying principles and standards of quality and cost disciplines in support of large to enterprise scale and complexity projects and operational initiatives. Ensures that goals and objectives are accomplished within prescribed time frame and requirements with quality and integrity. Ensure all documents generated during these activities follows process management best practices and are properly stored. The focus and assignments of the Sr. Process Specialist are support of testing processes on projects, including test planning and coordination that are established and repeatable year over year. Serves as a role model and mentor to more junior staff.
Requirements:
- Independently manages assigned process activities to ensure outcomes match agreed upon customer expectations and outcomes.
- Effectively communicates process information to stakeholders through agreed upon channels and timelines. This includes communicating with multiple levels of the organization including Senior and Executive leaders.
- Guides and facilitates stakeholders throughout the organization in establishing detailed requirements for process activities.
SERVICE ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Independently plans, organize and execute process-related activities on projects and operational initiatives.
- Defines quality management and/or cost management plans to support projects and operational activities.
- Report and address issues as they arise identifying and implementing alternative solutions or escalating to the operations or project manager when appropriate. Serve as liaison with project team members on issues related to process activities.
- Serves as a mentor to more junior process specialists
QUALITY/SAFETY ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Independently establishes the project quality and/or cost control plan(s).
- Adheres to standards and procedures for testing and/or cost control defined by the Portfolio & Process Management Office.
- Maintain the process site, update process documentation.
FINANCE ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Assists Project Manager with estimating project cost and defining project benefits associated with quality management.
- Coaches Project Managers on project cost control fundamentals.
- Validates consultants (contract labor) quality management deliverables.
GROWTH/INNOVATION ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Proposes opportunities to improve the Portfolio & Process Management Office and participates in improvement initiatives.
- Proactively manages own professional development and completes Individual Development Plan (IDP)

Qualifications:
- Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, Electronics Engineering, or related discipline with an information technology focus
WORK EXPERIENCE
- Five years of successful experience in IT process activities in support of large to enterprise scale and complexity projects and operations initiatives, preferably in a healthcare environment.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Demonstrates the skills and competencies necessary to safely perform the assigned job, determined through on-going skills, competency assessments, and performance evaluations
- Sufficient proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing the English language necessary to perform the essential functions of this job, especially with regard to activities impacting patient or employee safety or security
- Ability to effectively communicate with patients, physicians, family members and co-workers in a manner consistent with a customer service focus and application of positive language principles
- Knowledge of how process activities are integrated to IT operations and the project life cycle.
- Knowledge of project management tools, methodologies and IT services management.
- Ability to generate and control documentation.
- Ability to interface with internal department and staff, physicians, vendors, and experts.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills.
- Solid knowledge in Microsoft Office products
