Houston Methodist is excited to announce our new partnership with Southwestern University, offering students transformative experiences for summer research roles, interdisciplinary internships, and comprehensive observership programs.
Programs begin in Summer 2024. This is an unparalleled opportunity for students interested in healthcare careers to immerse themselves in interdisciplinary, hands-on professional development, networking and mentorship.
Collaborating with Southwestern alumni, interns will learn vital aspects of care at Houston Methodist. The internship is an eight-week program where students will receive $3,000 in financial support, as they’ll spend the summer navigating rotations in the Quality Department, Process Improvement, Strategic Planning, Orthopedics and Sports Medicine.
The observership is a four-week program designed for students to gain exposure to care operations, including rotations in Internal Medicine, Family Practice, OBGYN, Cardiology, Neurology, Orthopedics, Sports Medicine and Outpatient Therapies.
Our new partnership represents more than a training base for future healthcare professionals; it exemplifies our commitment to giving students enriching, real-world opportunities to gain experience and make a positive impact on the medical field and beyond.
