Senior Wellness Dietitian - FT Medical Center

At Houston Methodist, the Senior Wellness Dietitian position is responsible for assessing client's nutritional status, in-person or virtually, using recognized tools of assessment and instructing clients on the appropriate nutrition plan. The Senior Wellness Dietitian plans and implements professional nutrition presentations as well as actively participates in planning, instruction, and evaluation of the nutrition, wellness, and fitness components of Houston Methodist Wellness programs. The position participates in departmental and quality improvement projects and provides mentorship to other dietitians, students, interns, and colleagues.

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS - REQUIRED

• RD - Registered Dietician (CDR) AND
• LD - License Dietitian, State Licensure AND
• CDCES - Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CBDCE) OR
• CSOWM - Certified Specialist Obesity and Weight Mgmt (CDR) OR
• CSSD - Certified Specialist Sports Dietetics (CDR) OR
• CBC - Certified Bariatric Counselor (AABC) OR
• CPT - Certified Personal Trainer (NASM) OR
• CPT - Certified Personal Trainer (ACSM) OR
• CPT - Certified Personal Trainer (ACE) OR
• CCMS - Certified Culinary Medicine Specialist (CMSB) OR
• CWP - Certified Wellness Professional (NWI)

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

• Demonstrates the skills and competencies necessary to safely perform the assigned job, determined through on-going skills, competency assessments, and performance evaluations

• Sufficient proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing the English language necessary to perform the essential functions of this job, especially with regard to activities impacting patient or employee safety or security

• Ability to effectively communicate with patients, physicians, family members and co-workers in a manner consistent with a customer service focus and application of positive language principles

• Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks and function calmly in stressful situations, including handling of, or exposure to confidential, sensitive information

• Working knowledge of computer programs, including but not limited to, Microsoft Office products

• Demonstrates the ability to access information both in the department and within the hospital system to support the department as appropriate
