The Department of Neurology at Houston Methodist is seeking a Neuromuscular Neurologist to join our established Neuromuscular Division in the Texas Medical Center.

This is an excellent opportunity to join an established team of neuromuscular specialists within a nationally recognized Neurology program. The division provides comprehensive care for patients with neuromuscular diseases and offers exceptional opportunities for education, research, and academic collaborations.

Houston Methodist is consistently ranked the #1 hospital in Texas by U.S. News & World Report, and the Neurology program is nationally ranked #13.

About the Neuromuscular Division

The Neuromuscular Division offers a collaborative academic environment with a robust EMG program and an accredited Neuromuscular and Clinical Neurophysiology fellowship.

The division has an established EMG program and an accredited Neuromuscular and Clinical Neurophysiology fellowship, providing opportunities for the successful candidate to perform EMG and nerve conduction studies and participate in fellow education and training. The division’s multidisciplinary programs include nationally and internationally recognized clinics for:

  • Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS)

  • Myotonic dystrophy

  • Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease

The division has multiple ongoing clinical trials and basic science studies supported by the National Institutes of Health (NIH). Faculty also have access to the Houston Methodist Research Institute, including research cores, advanced human imaging centers, and state-of-the-art laboratories supporting research in neuromuscular diseases.

Qualified Candidates

  • Completion of an accredited Neurology residency

  • Fellowship training in Neuromuscular Diseases and/or EMG

  • Eligible for a Texas medical license or currently licensed in Texas and in good standing

  • Strong interest in high-quality clinical care and education

  • Interest in academic medicine and research
