Houston Methodist Willowbrook Hospital is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Nocturnist to join our highly skilled and collaborative hospitalist team. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional patient care during overnight shifts, contributing to our mission of unparalleled safety, quality, service, and innovation. This position is vital in ensuring 24/7 care continuity for our patients and supporting Houston Methodist’s commitment to leading medicine.

Position Highlights

  • 7-on/7-off nocturnist schedule

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive inpatient care during overnight hours, including admissions, consultations, and management of acute medical conditions.
  • Respond to and manage medical emergencies throughout the hospital.
  • Collaborate with specialists, nursing staff, advanced practice providers, and ancillary teams to ensure coordinated, high-quality patient care.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and referring providers regarding treatment plans and care transitions.
  • Complete timely and accurate medical documentation in accordance with regulatory, compliance, and billing requirements.
  • Participate in hospital quality improvement, patient safety, and performance initiatives.
  • Support educational activities involving residents and medical students, when applicable.

Qualifications

Education

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited institution.

Licensure and Certification

  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine.
  • Active Texas Medical License or eligibility to obtain Texas licensure.

Experience

  • Previous hospitalist or nocturnist experience preferred.
  • Two or more years of inpatient clinical experience is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex and acutely ill hospitalized patients.
