- Charge Nurse Observation: This team member functions at the Competent to Proficient stage of Benner's model of clinical practice. He/she creates an environment for the management and delivery of safe patient care. In addition to fulfilling the duties and responsibilities of a clinical nurse, the Charge Nurse position is a role model and coach to department personnel and assists in developing their skills and knowledge.
- Registered Nurse (RN II) Observation: Team members in this role develop their skills through a wide range of educational programs, collaborate with physicians to provide the best care and build upon a world-class reputation for excellence in patient care, education and research.

Houston Methodist Emergency Care Center at Kirby is a full-service emergency facility that brings the same high-quality care for which Houston Methodist is known. Located in Houston’s Upper Kirby neighborhood, the Emergency Care Center provides free parking and fast service 24/7. Board-certified emergency medicine doctors, who work alongside specially trained nurses and staff, treat patients of all ages for minor emergencies to life-threatening ones. The facility houses 10 exam rooms, a full-digital radiography suite, low-radiation 64-slice CT scan, ultrasound and a full on-site stat chemistry lab. For conditions requiring hospital admissions or further evaluation, staff will facilitate transfers to Houston Methodist Hospital or a facility with the appropriate level of care.Houston Methodist is one of the nation’s leading health systems and academic medical centers.
