The Daily Dose
News From the Houston Methodist Community

Published May 6, 2026

Houston Methodist has once again earned an “A” Hospital Safety Grade from The Leapfrog Group. Even more notably, our organization has achieved the Straight “A” designation, a distinguished national recognition earned by only 15% of hospitals nationwide to sustain top safety performance across multiple grading cycles.

This achievement reflects our unwavering dedication to protecting patients and delivering safe, high-quality care every day. Leapfrog Safety Grades are based on rigorous, evidence-based measures that evaluate how well hospitals prevent medical errors, injuries, infections and accidents. Consistently earning an “A” demonstrates an organization-wide commitment to excellent patient care.

All eligible Houston Methodist acute care hospitals earned the Straight “A” designation:

  • Houston Methodist Baytown Hospital
  • Houston Methodist Clear Lake Hospital
  • Houston Methodist Hospital
  • Houston Methodist Sugar Land Hospital
  • Houston Methodist The Woodlands Hospital
  • Houston Methodist West Hospital
  • Houston Methodist Willowbrook Hospital

These results are made possible by the physicians, nurses and support staff who place patient safety at the center of everything they do. Their expertise and compassion continue to define Houston Methodist as a leader in medicine for our community.

Houston Methodist Cypress Hospital, which opened in March 2025, is not yet eligible for a Leapfrog Safety Grade as new hospitals must generate sufficient publicly reported data before receiving a rating.
