Since 1971, Houston Methodist Administrative Fellowship Program has offered a select group of outstanding people an opportunity to participate in health care at the highest levels. Over 100 alumni of the program have gone on to become leaders in their chosen fields.

Diana Darr is from Covington, Louisiana. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Alabama, studying healthcare analytics and finance, and attended the University of Alabama at Birmingham for her Master of Science in Health Administration. As an undergraduate, Diana interned with various organizations in Louisiana, where she focused on improving patient experience, making a positive impact in the community, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams. These experiences sparked Diana’s passion for healthcare administration, driven by its challenging nature and complexity, as well as the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of both patients and clinicians. Before beginning her fellowship with Houston Methodist, Diana completed a graduate administrative internship with Intermountain Health, where she developed and implemented best practices in the medical group, targeting key functions such as revenue cycle optimization, healthcare access, and patient care coordination. In her second year of graduate school, Diana worked in UAB Medicine’s Clinical Simulation Department to design and implement an improved inventory system. As an administrative fellow, Diana aims to further develop her knowledge and skills to support clinicians in delivering the highest quality of care to the patients Houston Methodist serves. In her free time, Diana likes to discover new restaurants, spend time outdoors, and enjoy the many unique experiences Houston has to offer.

Fatima Ghanjani was born in Karachi, Pakistan and grew up in the outskirts of Atlanta in Lawrenceville, Georgia. She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Georgia State University in Atlanta, GA. She spent three years working in the Emergency Department as a Registered Nurse in northeast Georgia during the COVID-19 pandemic, where she became actively involved with the ED Unit Council. Driven by her personal mission to create meaningful change for communities, Fatima pursued a dual graduate degree at University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) to obtain her Master of Business Administration and a Master of Science in Healthcare Administration. Following her first year at UAB, Fatima completed Mayo Clinic’s Administrative Internship Program at their flagship campus in Rochester, MN. In this role, she worked with the Department of Neurology to conduct root causes analysis, streamline processes, and introduce a service line. During her second year, she had the opportunity to intern with UAB Hospital Operations and work closely with the Palliative Care Team on a variety of key projects. As Houston Methodist continues to lead medicine, Fatima looks forward to enhancing healthcare delivery for patients and multidisciplinary teams, while improving access to high-quality, holistic care. In her free time, Fatima enjoys walking along scenic trails, traveling, and partaking in Bollywood fusion dance workshops.

Alex Peftoulidis was born and raised in Jackson, Tennessee. He received both his Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Health Management and Policy and a Master of Healthcare Administration (MHA) from Saint Louis University. After initially pursuing clinical education during his undergraduate studies, Alex developed a fascination with the complex systems that drive healthcare delivery, sparking his interest in understanding how various components seamlessly work together to provide patient care. During his graduate studies at Saint Louis University, he served as the Executive Vice-President of the Student Association of Health Management & Policy, where he worked to foster professional development and networking opportunities for his peers. Alex spent a summer with Children’s Hospital New Orleans as an administrative intern where he gained valuable experience working with their executive team. During the summer, he led a project to streamline the sitter process for behavioral health admissions, enhancing operational efficiency and patient safety. Alex is deeply committed to promoting patient-centered care and advancing healthcare innovation. As an administrative fellow, he is enthusiastic about contributing to Houston Methodist's vision of delivering unparalleled safety, quality, service, and innovation to the community. In his free time, Alex enjoys playing tennis, exploring new films with friends, and passionately supporting his favorite sports teams.
