Since 1977, Houston Methodist Administrative Fellowship Program has offered a select group of outstanding people an opportunity to participate in health care at the highest levels. Nearly 100 alumni of the program have gone on to become leaders in their chosen fields.

Brenden Brown was born and raised in Delray Beach, Florida. He lived in Orlando, Florida while completing his undergraduate and graduate degrees, where he received his Master of Healthcare Administration and Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences from the University of Central Florida. Following his first year of graduate school, Brenden completed an administrative internship at Sheppard Pratt, which is the nation’s largest private, nonprofit provider of mental health, substance use, special education and developmental disability services. In this role he developed a training module focused on cultural competency and DEI, conducted an in-depth market analysis to assess mental and behavioral health needs, and standardized consulting engagements within clinical operations. Brenden has a passion for serving underserved communities and being an advocate for health equity and looks forward to serving the Houston Methodist community at large. Upon graduating from the University of Central Florida, Brenden was inducted into the 2023 Class of Order of Pegasus for his work in the Central Florida community. Outside of work, Brenden enjoys traveling, attending concerts, exploring new restaurants, and visiting amusement parks.

Henry Burns is originally from Woodbury, Minnesota. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry from Baylor University, and he received his Master of Healthcare Administration degree from the University of Minnesota. After his first year of graduate school, Henry completed a healthcare management residency with the Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation (HBFF) where he worked with clinical staff to develop a falls prevention program specific to the behavioral health care setting. He continued to work at HBFF during his second year of graduate school, where he coordinated strategy projects as a project manager and managed a reporting system for organizational objectives and key results. Henry has also worked as a student consultant with Allina Health and Marshfield Clinic Health System on projects related to sleep medicine and post-acute care. Henry has a passion for reducing provider burnout, and he is excited to see how Houston Methodist uses innovation to improve the care experience for both providers and patients. Outside of work, Henry enjoys golfing, trying new restaurants, making coffee, and watching his favorite sports teams.

Sarah Gebretsadik was born and raised in Jacksonville, Florida. She received her Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a minor in Health Disparities in Society from the University of Florida. After graduating, she spent a year serving in local outreach to address educational disparities in underserved neighborhoods in Gainesville. She then worked in higher education at UF in administration for Multicultural Diversity Affairs. Sarah received her Master’s in Health Administration from The Ohio State University where she served as the Diversity Enhancement Chair for the Association of Future Healthcare Executives. She spent her summer with OhioHealth as an administrative resident for the heart and vascular service line where she worked on evaluating an opportunity for a cardiogenic shock program for the health system. One of her desires is to work with community groups striving to combat healthcare inequity, merging her passions for social justice and medicine. She hopes to one day do work in Ethiopia, where her family is originally from, as she is interested in global healthcare. Sarah enjoys painting and creating art, live music, and trying new cuisines with her family and friends.
